Food safety in Vietnam (funded by DFAT, 2018)
Food safety issues in Vietnam are a growing concern due to various factors such as rapid urbanization, agricultural practices, and insufficient regulatory enforcement. The widespread use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers in farming has led to the contamination of food products, posing health risks to consumers. Additionally, the prevalence of informal food markets, where hygiene standards are often low, exacerbates the problem. Inadequate food safety infrastructure and limited public awareness further complicate efforts to ensure safe food practices. This project provides a thematic review and stakeholder opinions on food safety issues in Vietnam.
