Masterclass on Energy Transition for ASEAN and the Greater Mekong Subregion

Supported by the Asian Development Bank and DFAT Australia, ANU delivered a capacity-building training for ASEAN and GMS countries on the design and implementation of a clean energy transition on July 22, 2024, in Canberra, Australia. Around 30 policymakers from energy ministries and public utilities participated. The training aimed to share lessons from Australia's energy transition, focusing on policies to support renewable energy (RE) and power system infrastructure upgrades. Topics included enhanced power system operations through interstate power trading, energy storage systems like pumped storage hydro and batteries, and advanced technologies for RE integration.
